Description

Border line, dead inside. I don't mind, falling to pieces.
Count me in, violent, let's begin, feeding the sickness.

It only hurts just once. They're only broken bones. Hide the hate inside.
So I can leave this world behind.

Breaking Benjamin - Unknown Soldier

Here's one more picture of my SnK figure skating - I thought it would be cool to have a combination of performances for both songs, and here we are. Plus I really like how the pictures look. (I think they are the first and only good pics of me skating. Orz.)

Some people asked me why I skated to Guren no Yumiya and Lullaby of the Survey corps, and why skating and not something else. To me, it's kind of a silly question. I was a figure skater long before I was a cosplayer, and even if I don't actively train skating anymore, I still go to public rink hours to skate, because I do love skating. And cosplay has become inseparable part of my life - I love that, too. So why wouldn't I go and try to combine these two? Original idea was proposed to me years ago, but there has never been a convention near enough a rink to do that, and in Yukicon, the opportunity presented itself, and well, here we are.

The only thing I regret a little is that the performance could've been better - the choreography itself, mainly, because there's not much I could do for the horrible quality of the ice and -15C outside. The circumstances still bug me a bit though, because I know I could've done so much better and so many better tricks if it had been indoor rink. But still, no regrets here. (Btw, if you're interested, the Escapist made an article out of my skating. And it's really neat. Go and have read, if you like: www.escapistmagazine.com/news/…)

Anyway, it was an awesome experience to skate to something like Guren no Yumiya. I loved it, being able to combine the two things I've grown to love - and it makes me happy that people liked it, too. :)

(I think I'll do something next year, too. I don't know what yet, and I'm tempted to learn something with roller blades, because I've recently gotten into Air Gear. But we'll see, we'll see.)
